Wisconsin Cheese Launches “Wedges of Love” for National Cheese Lover’s Day

Move over roses—Wisconsin wants Valentine’s Day to smell like aged alpine and fenugreek gouda this year.

Red blooms and boxed chocolates have had a long reign over February 14, but survey data gathered for Wisconsin Cheese suggests the romance market is shifting. Consumers are craving gifts with personality and flavor, not just petals and sugar. The numbers are telling: two-thirds of respondents said cheese is how they show affection, and nearly the same share said they’d gladly trade a bouquet of roses for a bouquet of wedges.

Enter Wedges of Love, a new limited-edition release from Wisconsin Cheese timed to land on National Cheese Lover’s Day (Jan. 20). Think curated artisan board meets florist moment: nine decorated Wisconsin cheeses arranged like a bouquet and tucked into packaging styled after a flower box for the surprise factor.

Each box comes with stainless steel cheese knives, pairing notes, recipe ideas, and a short poem for a touch of whimsy. At $100 with free shipping, it’s designed for wine-night gifting, date-night grazing, or generally impressing the lactose-inclined.

What’s inside the bouquet

The lineup reads like a who’s who of the state’s award winners, spanning familiar favorites, blues, and flavored wheels:

  • Cranberry Chipotle Cheddar (Carr Valley Cheese Company)
  • The Carawaybou (Deer Creek Cheese)
  • Belaire (Hoard’s Dairyman Farm Creamery)
  • Tallgrass Reserve (Landmark Creamery)
  • Fenugreek Gouda (Marieke Gouda)
  • Dunbarton Blue (Roelli Cheese Haus)
  • Grand Cru Reserve (Roth Cheese)
  • SarVecchio (Sartori Cheese)
  • Pleasant Ridge Reserve (Uplands Cheese Company)

The brand is positioning the bouquet as the dairy-world equivalent of fine chocolate—rich, dramatic, and meant to be shared. As Wisconsin Cheese CMO Suzanne Fanning puts it, Wisconsinites don’t half-step when they care about something, and cheese is a point of pride the state leans into harder than anyone else.

How to get one before Valentine’s Day

The first drop goes live Jan. 20, with additional release windows through Feb. 8, while inventory lasts. Orders ship free and can arrive by Valentine’s Day, assuming you snag one before they sell out—because yes, the cheese bouquet is limited.

And just like that, February has a new love language: artisan wedges, candlelight, and a board full of Wisconsin’s best. Roses will survive, but they’ve officially got competition.
