Summer Hosting Starts with the Right Cheese Pairing

Summer hosting season is officially on, and the easiest way to elevate a cheese board? Pair the right cheese with the right pour. From buttery triple cream and Champagne to bold cheddar with Cabernet, these pairings bring out the best in every bite.

Saint Angel Original, Triple Cream Cheese x Champagne

Saint Angel is a soft ripened cheese made with ultrafiltration process which gives a nice creamy texture and taste. Heavenly delicious, this extra creamy triple cream has an incomparable taste and incredible melt-in-the-mouth, “buttercream-like” texture.

Champagne pairs exceptionally well with Saint Angel triple cream cheese because its effervescence and acidity balance the cheese’s ultra-rich, buttery texture, refreshing the palate. The wine’s delicate citrus, apple. and yeasty notes highlight the cheese’s subtle mushroomy rind and sweet cream interior.

Tillamook Special Reserve X-Sharp Yellow Cheddar x Cabernet

The most popular cheese in Tillamook County, Tillamook Extra Sharp is their pride and joy. Naturally aged from 15 to 24 months, with deeper flavor and their trademark bright & old-world rustic flavor notes.

Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with Tillamook Special Reserve Extra Sharp Yellow Cheddar because the wine’s bold tannins and dark fruit flavors stand up to the cheddar’s intense, tangy sharpness. The fat in the cheese softens the tannins, while the wine’s structure enhances the cheese’s savory depth, creating a rich, balanced pairing.

Castello Havarti Chunks Plain x Rosé

Castello Creamy Havarti Cheese is a mild, aromatic cheese with just a hint of tanginess. Soft and creamy, its taste develops more character as it matures. It is made with a traditional Danish recipe and crafted by master cheesemakers. It’s a perfect match for your everyday cheese craving, cheese board, or sandwich.

Castello Havarti pairs well with rosé wine because its creamy, mild texture complements the wine’s bright acidity and red berry notes without overpowering them. The gentle tang of the Havarti enhances the fruitiness of the rosé, while the wine’s crispness refreshes the palate after each bite.

Jarlsberg Wheel x Chardonnay

One of America’s favorite specialty cheese brands, Jarlsberg is famous around the world for its characteristic mild, mellow, nutty flavor and large round holes. Jarlsberg is a wonderfully versatile cheese for any occasion. Originated in Norway, it is also produced in Ohio and Ireland under licenses from Norwegian dairy producers.

Jarlsberg pairs well with Chardonnay because its nutty, slightly sweet flavor complements the wine’s notes of apple, pear, and vanilla. The creaminess of Jarlsberg balances beautifully with both oaked and unoaked Chardonnays. Both the cheese & wine share a mellow yet complex flavor profile that allows each to enhance the other without clashing.
