A Weeklong Celebration of Vermont Cheese

Vermont is giving cheese lovers plenty of reasons to make a trip this September. Vermont Cheese Week runs September 13–20, bringing a full week of cheese-focused events and experiences to communities across the state.

The celebration puts Vermont’s cheesemakers—and the farms, animals, and land behind their work—front and center. Throughout the week, visitors can take part in tastings, pairings, classes, creamery and farm tours, and other experiences that offer a closer look at Vermont’s cheese culture.

For those looking to make a proper cheese getaway out of it, the week also brings together local lodging and dining opportunities, making it easy to build an itinerary around eating, learning, and exploring the state’s dairy producers.

The week wraps up with the Vermont Cheesemakers Festival on September 20 at Shelburne Farms, serving as the capstone event. It’s a chance to bring together cheesemakers, cheese lovers, and the wider community for one final celebration of Vermont cheese.

Whether you’re there for the wheels, the pairings, or simply an excuse to explore Vermont one cheese stop at a time, Cheese Week offers a pretty compelling itinerary.
