Italian Beef with Smoked Salami & Gouda

National Sandwich Month is a great excuse to put a seriously good sandwich together. This Italian-inspired version brings together Brooklyn Cured Smoked Beef Salami, Gouda, Giardiniera, and pepperoncini on a soft hoagie roll for a sandwich that is savory, tangy, cheesy, and packed with flavor.

The smoked beef salami brings plenty of richness, while Gouda adds a creamy, slightly sweet contrast. Giardiniera and pepperoncini bring the acidity and heat that pull everything together.

Italian Beef Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 3 oz. Brooklyn Cured Smoked Beef Salami
  • ½ cup Giardiniera
  • 6 pepperoncini peppers, sliced
  • 4 slices Gouda
  • 2 tbsp. oil and vinegar or Italian dressing
  • 2 soft hoagie rolls or Italian bread

Directions

  1. Slice the rolls or Italian bread lengthwise and drizzle the cut sides with some Italian dressing.
  2. Layer the Brooklyn Cured Smoked Beef Salami onto one side of the bread, folding each slice in half for a fuller sandwich.
  3. Add the Gouda, sliced pepperoncini, and Giardiniera. Finish with another drizzle of dressing.
  4. Top with the other half of the roll, slice the sandwich in half, and serve.

It’s simple, substantial, and exactly the kind of sandwich that makes a good excuse for celebrating National Sandwich Month.
