Maytag Blue, Fig & Prosciutto Bruschetta Sandwich

If you’re a fan of the sweet-and-savory magic that happens when blue cheese meets fruit, this sandwich is calling your name. Creamy, tangy Maytag Blue gets paired with salty prosciutto, fresh figs, peppery greens, and a drizzle of honey, all tucked between crisp, golden slices of rustic bread. It’s an easy lunch or light meal that feels a little fancy without making you work too hard for it—and that’s a cheese sandwich worth celebrating.

Blue Cheese Bruschetta

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of rustic sourdough or ciabatta bread
  • 2 oz. Maytag Blue cheese
  • 4-6 slices prosciutto
  • 4 fresh figs, sliced
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • A handful of arugula or baby spinach
  • Olive oil, for brushing
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
Directions
  1. Toast the bread: Bursh each slice of bread lightly with olive oil. Toast in a grill pan until golden and crispy.
  2. Add a layer of blue cheese on both slices.
  3. Arrange the smoked ham on top of the cheese.
  4. Layer with fresh fig slices.
  5. Add a handful of arugula or spinach.
  6. Drizzle with honey to enhance the sweetness of the figs and balance the cheese.
  7. Top with a crack of black pepper.
  8. Place the remaining bread slice on top.
  9. Slice in half and serve immediately.
