Sartori Cheese’s Classic Parmesan earned top honors in the Italian-type grating category at the 2026 American Cheese Society (ACS) Judging & Competition, adding another award to the Wisconsin cheesemaker’s growing list of accolades.
The annual competition celebrates excellence in American cheesemaking, with more than 1,600 entries submitted by over 200 cheesemakers across North America. Sartori’s winning Parmesan was recognized in the Grating Types category, which includes hard, aged styles such as Parmesan, Grana, Romano, Sardo and Aged Asiago.
For Sartori, the win marks the fifth major competition honor for Classic Parmesan, following recognition at both the Global Cheese Awards and World Cheese Awards. Its previous accolades include a third-place finish at the 2025 Global Cheese Awards, a Gold Medal in 2016, and Silver Medals at the 2017 and 2015 World Cheese Awards.
Founded in 1939, Sartori has been crafting artisan cheese in Plymouth, Wisconsin, for four generations. The family-owned creamery continues to blend traditional cheesemaking techniques with a meticulous approach to quality—and this latest ACS win suggests its Parmesan is still aging very, very well.
