Semifreddi’s Crostini: A Cheese Board Essential

For more than 40 years, Semifreddi’s has been baking artisan breads and pastries in the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded in 1984, the bakery has grown from a small 450-square-foot shop into a beloved producer of European-style breads, pastries, cookies, and more, while keeping its community roots at the heart of the business.

One of our favorite finds from the lineup? Semifreddi’s Crostini, available in Sourdough Butter, Super Garlic, and Kalmata Olive.

Crisp, flavorful, and seriously versatile, these crostini are made for more than just snacking. They’re a natural addition to a cheese board, bringing a satisfying crunch alongside soft, creamy cheeses, aged varieties, and everything in between.

They also make an excellent base for bruschetta, a crunchy topper for soups and salads, or a sturdy vehicle for tapenades, dips, and spreads. Break them up for homemade-style croutons, or simply swap them in wherever you’d normally reach for a cracker.

Each flavor brings something different to the table: buttery sourdough, bold garlic, or savory Kalmata olive. Basically, they’re the kind of pantry staple that makes entertaining—and last-minute snacking—a whole lot easier.

Semifreddi’s may be known for its artisan bread, but these little slices deserve some time in the spotlight, too. Cheese board? Consider the crunch covered.
