Sour Cherry Sangria

Ingredients:

  • 2 c pitted cherries, halved
  • 1 c water
  • 1 lime, thinly slice
  • 750ml white wine (like Pinot Grigio)
  • ¼ c Divina Sour Cherry Spread (for simple syrup)
  • 3 oz sparkling water

Directions:

  1. Make the Sour Cherry simple syrup: using a small pan combine equal parts water and Sour Cherry Spread. Heat over medium-high until the liquid begins to boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and let cook until reduced by half. Let syrup completely cool before using.
  2. Toss the halved cherries and lime slices into a large pitcher, then add the bottle of white wine.
  3. Stir the cooled sour cherry simple syrup into the pitcher.
  4. Chill the sangria in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. Serve over ice and top each glass with a splash of sparkling water.
